Habits that foreigner learns in India
It
is quite common to see that most of the foreigners who lands in India would
certainly pick up some good Indian habits. It does not matter which country
they are from. The amazing habits are:
1)
Namaste
Namaste
is one of the most common forms of greeting in India. It is done by folding
both hands and bending forward to give respect to the person in front of you.
As commonly observed that the foreigners while traveling in India, learns how
to do say and do Namaste. They stop shaking hands and quickly get adapted to
the Indian style of greetings.
2)
Dhanayvad/Shukriya
Another
word that quickly finds space in their vocabulary is Dhanayavad in Hindi or
Shukriya in Urdu. Instead of saying thanks in English, a lot of foreigners
would like to thank people in their language.
3)
Bright Colors
Most
of the foreign countries use light pastel shades in clothes. After their
arrival in India, they are amazed to see bright and beautiful colors that the
Indians commonly used. These colors are not just reflected in the textile but
also in food, house paints, cars and decoration. It is observed that after
visiting India, most of the foreigners start using bright colors to brighten up
their life.

Eating with Hands
India
is not just diverse in religion and culture but also in the variety of foods
and drinks offered here. The foreigners learn to use hands instead of knife and
folk while consuming Indian food.

Wearing Kurta and Sari
A
lot of foreigners love Indian traditional clothes too. The males would
certainly buy a cotton kurta that goes quite well with jeans or trousers. And
females would learn to drape a sari. A survey reports that a lot of foreign
couples would like to visit the Taj Mahal like Indian Maharaja or Maharani.

Taking shoes off at religious places and homes
Whenever
the foreigner visits an Indian home or any religious places, they develop a
habit of taking their shoes off.

Bargaining
Another
amazing habit that foreigner learns from Indians is Bargaining. Whenever they
purchases small gift items like post cards or fridge magnets from the street
vendors, they learn how to negotiate its prices.
