Argentina’s President Mauricio Macri visited
Taj Mahal
President of Argentina Mauricio Macri arrived in New Delhi for a
three-day official visit to India. Information and Broadcasting Minister Col
Rajyavardhan Rathore received him at the airport.
Mr Macri visited the Taj Mahal recently with his wife and First Lady Juliana Awada and daughter.He visited the Taj Mahal early in the morning. They
spent more than an hour at the Taj Mahal.
It remained closed for the general public for almost for three hours as a
security measure.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold
delegation level talks with the visiting dignitary. During the talks, the two
sides will review progress in bilateral ties and explore new avenues of
cooperation. Several agreements will be signed after the talks. Mr Macri will
meet President Ram Nath Kovind at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Mr Kovind will host a
Banquet in his honour. The President of Argentina will also address Plenary
Session of India-Argentina Business Forum. He is also scheduled to visit Mumbai
too.
India and Argentina traditionally share warm and friendly ties
anchored in mutually beneficial partnerships. Bilateral cooperation spans
areas, including nuclear, space, economic, commercial, agriculture, science,
technology, culture and tourism. Presently, the bilateral trade is around 3
billion Dollars.
The Taj Mahal is
one of the Seven Wonders of the
World which is considered as the most photogenic destinations of
India. It is one of the most exquisite structures ever built by any emperor. It
was constructed by the fifth Mughal emperor in the fond memory of his favorite
wife Mumtaj Mahal. The Taj Mahal in
terms of architecture, is one of the most symmetrical structures in the world,
constructed using pure white marble and adorned with precious and semi precious
stones. The construction started in 1631 and got completed in 1653 AD; 20,000
workers worked day and night together for 22 years.
