Jonty Rhodes, a world renowned South African cricketer visited the Taj Mahal recently. He visited the world famous Taj Mahal with his daughter and son. His wife did not accompany him this time, as she has been to the Taj Mahal before.
He reached Agra around 11 o’clock and straight away went to visit the Taj Mahal. He was recognized by the locals and allowed them to take selfie. He then visited the graves of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal. He took a great interest in the marble inlay work at the Taj, and asked questions related to the workers who worked in its construction.  Later, he also visited Agra fort.He was on the same day visit to Agra.  He twitted about his visit that “The Taj Mahal is really a symbol of love.”
Jonathan Neil “Jonty” Rhodes is a former South African Test and One Day International cricketer. He is regarded as one of the greatest fielders of all time, which he perfected to fly towards the ball for any direction at ease.Rhodes made his Test début against India in the first Test of the “Friendship Tour” at his home ground in Kingsmead, Durban on 13th November 1992, scoring 41 in the first innings and 26 not out in the second. He played for the South African cricket team between 1992 and 2003.
Jonty Rhodes and his family has a long emotional bond with India. On 24 April 2015, Rhodes wife Melanie gave birth to a daughter named India Rhodes, in Mumbai. The couple named her after our country, stating they admired the rich culture and geographical diversity of the country. It is a very spiritual country, very forward thinking nation. I really like that combination. You have to have a good balance of life. With the name like India, she will have the best of both worlds and that sort of balance.
